Job Description:

We're looking for a freelance writer experienced in the fields of politics and women's issues to write for Abrams Media sites The Jane Dough, which covers women in business, politics, advertising and media, and Mediaite, the Internet's premier source of media news.QUALIFICATIONS:The primary qualification for this job is an encyclopedic knowledge of and obsessive enthusiasm for politics and women's issues. If you can name half the congress off the top of your head, follow policy news to a fault, and/or regularly think you could do a better job of covering women's issues in politics than the mainstream media, then this is the job for you.The secondary qualification is being able to write quickly and clearly on topics that you yourself think up/discover through the news cycle.We're looking to cover the hell out of stories that political publications miss because they don't understand women's issues, and vice versa. If you know the kind of stories we're talking about, this is the job for you.Please attach THREE documents to your application email; applications not containing all of these documents will NOT be considered:*** A resume/CV, including references *** As many samples of your writing as you feel are necessary*** A brief (1-page) cover letter explaining why your experience, knowledge, and personality make you the ideal reporter for us.
